FMIS | Facilities Management Information Systems

Spatial Systems Associates, Inc.Columbia, MDWelcome to Spatial System Associate's (SSA) home page for Facilities Management Information Systems (FMIS) products and services. While the firm was started as a GIS implementation firm in 1995, we have come to understand that the fundamental technologies associated with GIS, work exceedingly well in the implementation of FMIS. Whereas in the past buildings have simply been polygon features depicting the location of structures relative to infrastructure outside the building envelope, SSA now utilizes the same technology to integrate information about the construction and operation of the buildings and to offer that information via the internet.

We utilize Esri's enterprise architecture to integrate construction drawings, CADD files, operation manuals, building infrastructure (walls, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure) in a vector format, with operational applications (space management, work order management, energy monitoring and analysis, water monitoring and analysis, indoor environmental monitoring, furniture and equipment inventory, etc). We automate the collection of information, the analysis of collected information and the display of the analysis results in a format that is easily understood in a campus or building context.
